Is there anyone out there that loves a statement lip but just wears lipbalms, lip perfectors and other products that you can reapply without a mirror on a daily basis? And is there anyone out there that even when wearing products that you can reapply without a mirror does never reapply them during the day?
Well, that’s me. However, I do carry about 50 lip products in my bag. You never know, the day might come when I want to reapply my lipstick everytime I go to the bathroom. I don’t want to be caught off guard. In the meantime I stick to easy, comforting formulas in pink / peach/ nude shades. They give a light coat of colour to avoid the 8-hours-in-front-of-the-computer face and they moisturize your lips in a nice not too sticky way. You can still wear you hair down in a windy day, I promise.
My favourites are the wonderful Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfectors. Subtle shades, nice pigmentation for a lip balm and a surpising longevity. My favourite is shade number 2 but I can’t resist those cute travel sizes… I’d have them all! Lucky for me (and lots of Clarins customers) you get one of those travel sizes almost everytime you buy a skincare set at the airport. This is how I got my hands in that tiny, tiny Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil in Honey, which I also recommend because it’s like a couple of warm socks for your lips. And we all love warm socks in Autumn, don’t we?
And talking about comfort, I find the Clinique Chubby Sticks to be really nice for slightly sore lips. The colour payoff is very nice, closer to what you would expect from a proper sheer lipstick, but they taste like plastic, sort of. I don’t know how to describe it exactly, but definitely they have some kind of artificial almost metallic flavour.
But my latest lip related discovery are the L’Oreal Infallible Sexy Balm. I discovered them by chance and with such a convenient price point (7€ at my local drugstore) I couldn’t help but throwing a couple of shades in my shopping cart. My favourite is Whaaat? and not only because that’s probably the best lip product name in the history of lip products. It is a lovely brown-ish shade that looks wonderful and very, very natural.
And now I’m going to leave you because I have to retouch my makeup.
I’m kidding, Im going to be drinking coffee and eating cookies so I can’t be bothered. But in case I need to moisturise my lips and add a bit of colour, I have at least three of these products in my handbag right now…
